The recessed meeting of Castle Shannon Borough Council was called to order at 7:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers of the Castle Shannon Municipal Center, 3310 McRoberts Road, Castle Shannon, PA 15234 by President of Council, Regis J. Zezulewicz, Jr.
The following elected officials were present: Council Members R. Carlucci, M. Cheberenchick, P.J. Coffey, T.H. Kirk, N.J. Kovach, J. O'Malley, R.J. Zezulewicz, Jr., Mayor D. Baumgarten and Tax Collector S. Torris. The following appointed officials were present: D.R. Biondo, Solicitor; H. Lane, Chief of Police; and R. Trujillo, Building Official. Borough Manager D. Lane was absent.
Mr. Zezulewicz turned the meeting over to Mayor Baumgarten. Mayor Baumgarten presented to the oath of office Jeffrey Recker, Castle Shannon Police Officer, and welcomed him to the borough.
Mr. Zezulewicz requested if there was other business that needed to be discussed before closing the 2001 year. Being none, Mr. Zezulewicz officially closed the continued meeting of December 17, 2001. Ms. Kovach motioned to adjourn; Mr. Kirk seconded; all in favor; motion carried.
Mr. Zezulewicz recognized Judge David Barton, District Magistrate for Castle Shannon. Judge Barton came forward to swear in the elected officials as follows: Mayor Donald Baumgarten, Tax Collector Shirley Torris, and Council Members Robert Carlucci, Michael Cheberenchick, Paul Coffey, Ted Kirk and Jean O'Malley.
Mr. Zezulewicz presented the gavel to Mayor Baumgarten to commence the reorganization meeting for 2002.
Mayor Baumgarten declared the next order of business is the election of President of Council for the next two years. Mr. Cheberenchick nominated Regis Zezulewicz. Being no further nominations, Mr. Baumgarten announced a unanimous vote for Regis Zezulewicz as President of Council.
Mr. Zezulewicz announced the office of Vice President of Council for the next two years is open for nominations. Mr. Kirk nominated Paul Coffey. Being no further nominations, Mr. Zezulewicz announced a unanimous vote for Paul Coffey as Vice President of Council.
