Remembering Hamilton School (Excerpt from the Castle Shannon and Mt. Lebanon News March 25, 1905)

The school board, disposing of the grounds and building to the West Side Belt Line Railroad, purchased the property and built the present handsome school building of eight rooms, with all the modern up-to-date conveniences of the present day graded public school. To this building now come the pupils of the Cooley and Union districts—not as their fathers and mothers came before them, trudging several weary miles, for education, along country roads and in bad weather, but by train and street car to the modern school.
