Anne New is our director and librarian. Ms. New comes to Castle Shannon from the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh. She is a graduate of St. Mary of the Mount High School and Duquesne University. She has a Masters degree in Library Science from the University of Pittsburgh and has been working in libraries for over 30 years.

Ms. New has been at our library for four years and she is doing an excellent job. She is a many-talented lady. In addition to hosting book discussions, puppet shows, and poetry forums, she also does musical skits about the Civil War. She plays guitar and entertains the adults and children with many programs of Irish and Appalachian music.

Our community is most fortunate to have such a talented and caring employee in our borough.
