Message from POLICE CHIEF KEN TRUVER
July 1, 2010
Dear Residents and Visitors to the Castle Shannon Police website,
For the month of July, we’d like to revisit a couple of past messages.
The first note is a reminder of the NIXLE messaging service.
We addressed this media source in our January message, but the tool has proven to be so useful that we feel it bears mentioning again.
This free Community Information Service provides one source for access to credible real-time community information.
“Nixle provides proprietary technology to local police departments, city and municipal governments, and their local agencies and community groups enabling the immediate delivery of geographically relevant information to residents and community visitors, through SMS, web, and email distribution.”
In these days of instant messaging and computer assisted technology communications, we employ NIXLE as just one of many tools designed to provide our consumers with relevant and timely information.
We have been using NIXLE for crime alerts and traffic pattern disruptions and we have been receiving positive feedback about the content.
Please visit the site to subscribe at http://www.nixle.com
In addition to NIXLE, we have posted crime alerts and traffic issues on the ALERTS and NEWS sections of the Police site.
We’d also like to add a reminder of the utility found in the CrimeReports section of the PD site at the top right of the main page.
Throughout the summer, as we have all patiently waited for relief from the construction season, traffic issues continue to be at the forefront of all resident concerns.
Residents looking for traffic activity and enforcement information can find daily updates under the CrimeReports tab/ Crime Types tab/ Vehicle Stops tab.
Specific issues, complaints and concerns may be addressed to the department using the Traffic Alerts and Complaints tab on the left side of this page.
In the “Good News” department, the Grove Road Bridge is set for the Grand Opening on July 6, 2010. Thank you for your patience and understanding as the contractors work to complete the rest of the Route 88 and Grove Road corridor projects.
As always, your comments suggestions and input are invited and welcome.
