Columbia Gas Pipeline Construction
As part of our commitment to provide safe and reliable natural gas service to our customers, Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania is making a significant investment to replace natural gas pipelines in your neighborhood. This work mainly affects customers along portions of Oregon Trail, Conner Road, Willow Avenue, Bockstoce Avenue, and James Street. The work is expected to begin soon between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday with Saturday and night work possible. Motorists can expect road closures and lane restrictions during working hours only. We will have an official start date for this project soon.
Columbia Gas Line Work Information
PRT High Platform Repairs
Pittsburgh Regional Transit will be continuing their high station platform repair project this Spring. Castle Shannon Station, which was initially included in the second phase, is now scheduled to begin on April 17. Work at Lytle Station will start on May 1, and work at McNeilly Station is scheduled to being May 8. PRT’s contractors will be working weekdays from 7am to 3:30pm. Weekends may be used a make up days to minimize service disruptions. Weekend work would also be conducted from 7am to 3:30pm, though some nighttime work may be required.
Columbia Gas Cross Bore Safety Program
Columbia Gas and their contractor, Hydromax, will be completing work for the Cross Bore Safety Program throughout Castle Shannon in the coming weeks. For a full list of roadways that will be impacted, please see the attached document. There will be minimal road closures, and all local traffic will still be allowed through.

PAWC Service Line Inventory - Service Line Material Identification
In an effort to help remove pipes that may contain lead in the area, PAWC is asking for your participation in their identification efforts. Those that have unknown materials in their lines were sent a postcard, and if you received one PAWC asks you to respond. A map of their findings will be released in 2024 and all known lead will be marked for removal and replacement. Please see the attached document for more information and to respond.
