Castle Shannon municipal offices remain closed to the public but we will continue to conduct business. Residents can reach the Borough offices by phone or email. There is a drop off mail slot at the front door of the offices. When necessary, some business will be handled by appointment only.  Masks are mandatory when visiting the building. Gulisek Construction, LLC is currently under contract with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for the above reference project and will be performing work on SR 3037 Castle Shannon Blvd from Mt. Lebanon Blvd to Sunset Dr. This work involves concrete pavement patching and drainage improvements. This work is scheduled to begin on Monday, May 11th and will require daily lane restrictions between 7 am and 3 pm, Monday through Friday. For a few weeks a single lane of traffic will be closed around the clock. Every day from 3 pm until the following morning at 7 am at least one lane in each direct will be opened to traffic No work other than cleanup and traffic tear down will be happening between 10 pm and 7 am. Additionally, there will be three (3) weekend-long, single-direction detours, with the first detour being scheduled for May 22-23, weather permitting. The detours will be implemented at 9 am on Friday and continue until 10 pm on Saturday; however, no work will be performed between 10 pm and 7 am. During these detours, traffic will be permitted to travel from Mt. Lebanon Blvd. toward Sunset Drive. Traffic travelling from Sunset Drive toward Mt. Lebanon Blvd. will be detoured via Rt. 19 – Washington Road to Mt. Lebanon Blvd. and back to Castle Shannon Blvd. Please be mindful of changing traffic patterns, use caution while travelling though this corridor and pay attention to the Flaggers, who will be assisting you through the work zone. Take Notice that the Borough of Castle Shannon Borough Council will meet the second and fourth Mondays during the months of January, February, March, April,   June, July, August, September, October, November and December.  Due to holiday closings, Council will meet the second Monday in May.  These meetings will be held at 7:00 p.m. for Council to consider and act upon matters in an official business meeting.  Borough Council will meet on other Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m. in administrative session to consider but not to act upon matters.

The Planning Commission will meet 7:00 p.m. the third Monday of each month, except for July and August, as needed to consider and act upon matters.  The Zoning Hearing Board will meet when there are matters to consider and act upon.  The Civil Service Commission will meet as needed subsequent to specific public notices.
